Padron

I am not positive about which Padron this cigar was. I bought it at Tinder box for a bit over $7.00. I think it was a robusto size. Maybe smaller. I wanted something on the small side because I wanted to smoke it while shoveling the driveway.

I straight cut it and paired it with Wild Turkey 101. I got a bit of pepper on lighting. I was shoveling snow so I did not concentrate on the cigar a lot. But I did really enjoy it. It had great smoke and lots of it. A great medium flavor and the strength was medium. Definitely a finger burner that I would buy again.

Quorum - $2.45

This is the larger Quorum and I smoked while golfing at Diamond Lake golf club with Deron and his Father-in-law. It was a nice golf cigar. A little peppery, plenty of smoke, no burn issues.

This is one of those cigars that I should always keep on hand.

Tinderbox House Blend 4 1/2 X 50

This is the fourth time I have picked up this cigar from the local Tinderbox, it cost $2.65. I like the construction and solid feel and the size is nice for times when I have less than an hour.

I smoked it on the deck while working. I straight cut it and paired it with coffee and then a Coke out of the can.

It started off pretty mellow tasting and had a good draw. There was a slight pepper taste in the first third that diminished in the last 2 thirds. Half way through the cigar the wrapper started to bubble. I think that it was just a bad spot in the cigar because it fixed itself quickly. The was the third cigar in 3 days where the wrapper bubbled on me. And one of those was not even from my humidor.

The last third produced lots of smoke and the taste mellowed a bit. The pepper gave way to a slight woody taste.

I like this cigar but don't LOVE it. It's OK for a quick morning cigar with just enough kick.

Quorum $2.10

This is the smaller Quorum. I cut it with my guillotine cutter and paired it with coffee.

I am not sure that I like the guillotine cutter with this one. I started to get too much tobacco in my mouth. The cigar was constructed well and had a mellow taste with a hint of spice. It went out with about 3/ 4 of an inch left. It was a bit harsh after the relight, I took a few more puffs and then put it out.

This is one of those times that I felt a little wiggy for an hour after. It may not be a good morning/midday smoke for me.

This is the third time I have picked up this cigar from the local Tinderbox, it cost $2.65. I like the construction and solid feel.

I smoked it on the deck while working. I "V" cut it and paired it with a Pepsi Throwback out of the can.

I like the taste of this cigar. It starts with a slight tobacco taste and then mellows quickly. It had a fair amount of smoke to start. In the last 3rd there was less tobacco taste and just a slight pepper taste. It makes a nice lunch cigar. I burned it down to the nub in about 50 minutes.

This is the second time I have picked up this cigar from the local Tinderbox, it cost $2.65.

I really like this cigar. I smoked it on the deck on a Tuesday evening after the rest of the house was in bed. I paired it with a Blackstone California Merlot 2007. It was well made and firm and had a great weight. The draw was just a tad tight. Maybe I should abandon the V cutter or just not use it ALL the time. The taste danced between simple and complex. The strength is mild to medium with a nice little kick. Smoked it in under an hour and is a great cigar if I am short on time.

Tinderbox House Blend

This was the Churchill and cost was $4.05. It had a tight draw that was mellow at first. Almost no taste at all at first. Then 1/2 way thru better draw, nice pepper. Nice up tick later. At 1/4 left, perfect burn. Nice buzz. Smoked down to the nub. Would buy again.

I liked this cigar much better tonight. Nice buzz too.

I am rating this one as being fair to poor and am falling out of love with it. This one was smoked while camping with the girls at the Granger KOA out by the fire. The nicotine was pretty intense and it took me a while to fall asleep that night.

The was one of their $2.65 house cigars and it was nice but a bit small for me. Not sure what the actual size classification is.

Paid $2.45 and found it to be not bad. Burned fast and a tad peppery at first. Good nicotine. Overall not bad for price. Would buy again.
